08/12/2014

George Russell, winner of the 2014 BRDC Formula 4 championship to which Comma is Technical Partner, has crowned his debut season in single-seater racing by being voted British motor sport's most outstanding prospect for the future.
16 year old Russell, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was presented with the McLaren 'Autosport' BRDC award at a gala dinner at London's Grosvenor House hotel on Sunday, December 7th. Former winners of the prestigious trophy include 2009 World Champion Jenson Button, thirteen times Formula 1 winner David Coulthard and triple Indianapolis 500 winner, Dario Franchitti.

"George's performances this year in Formula 4 have been quite outstanding: he is clearly destined to have a great future in the sport," said Comma Marketing & Sales director, Mike Bewsey. "All of us at Comma send our heartiest congratulations to George and the team at Lanan Racing."

"As Technical Partner to the series, Comma is proud to be associated with all the teams and competitors in the burgeoning BRDC Formula 4 championship," said Mr Bewsey. "Jonathan Palmer and the MSV organisation have done a superb job in establishing BRDC Formula 4 as the foremost series for young drivers with the ambition to build professional careers in the sport. With BRDC Formula 4 as the platform, George Russell has shown with great skill and determination just what can be achieved."
